Yeah, parts of Bali feel like they were built purely for Instagram. But five minutes off the main road, you’re in the rice fields, or by a waterfall with no one else around, in one of the top island destination. It’s not hard to find the magic — you just have to look beyond the obvious.

Ubud is not just for hippies.

You might roll your eyes at crystal shops and sound healing, but spend a few days there and suddenly you're drinking turmeric lattes and journaling at sunrise. It happens. Go with it.
